This session gives a basic introduction to communicating with deaf people.
As with all our courses, we can tailor the session to meet your company’s needs. An example may be that you have a hearing impaired employee whose Access to Work assessment has recommended basic communication tatics and/or deaf awareness. Another example may be that you would like your front of house staff to have some basic skills for communicating with hard of hearing and deaf members of the public, clients, etc.
Topics covered include:
- The differences between deaf people.
- The barriers that deaf people face.
- Communication tactics to overcome these barriers.
This session can be run for between 8 and 12 people, though it may be possible to cater for larger or smaller groups by arrangement.
Attendees will receive a Deafness Matters certificate of attendance.
